The Keto Diet Plan – Lose Weight, Repair DNA and Increase Physical Strength

The ketogenic diet, usually nicknamed “Keto”, is a diet that mimics fasting physiology. Once the body enters ketosis, your body begins to use stored fat for energy instead of glucose (blood sugar). The best way to achieve ketosis is through fasting, dieting or by using exogenous ketones.

The only way to reliably verify if your body is in kitosis is by measuring your glucose levels with a device called Precision Xtra. If this device shows you 0.5 mmol of concentration, this means your body is experiencing a light kitosis. However, most people claim to achieve a stronger mental clarity once they reach 1mmol or higher.

Weight loss is not the only benefit from this diet, actually it is the last one on the list. If we dig deeper, the ketogenic diet was originally developed to treat epileptic children and it proved to be very successful for DNA repair and cancer prevention.

Dr. Dominic D’Agostino, a professor in the Department of Molecular Pharmacology at the University of South Florida Morsani College of Medicine and a senior research scientist at the Institute for human and Machine Cognition (IHMC) have proved over and over that ketosis can give the body more energy, strengthen body and mind molecules, repair DNA and prevent dozens of illnesses.

He is constantly testing different ketogenic diets and therapeutic fasts on himself and recommends ketosis for at least 3 times a year.

To show his colleagues that ketosis can actually give the body more energy, instead of the opposite, Dr. Dominic once hit the gym after a 7 day water fast and deadlifted 500 pounds of weight for 10 reps.

That’s how serious Dr. Dominic is about Keto dieting!

According to his research, here are some of the reasons why you should consider doing a ketosis diet:

  • Fat loss and molecular recomposition
  • Anti-cancer effects
  • Better use of oxygen
  • Maintain or increase physical strength
  • Lyme disease

Before this post start sounding like an infomercial let’s cut to the chase!

The whole point for entering Keto is by making sure that 75 to 85% of your calories you eat are from fat.

Here’s what you should be eating:

Breakfast

-4 Eggs (cooked in butter or coconut oil)

-1 can of sardines packed in extra virgin olive oil

– few slices of bacon

-½ can oysters

-Asparagus or any other vegetable

Lunch

Instead of lunch, Dr. Dominic would usually consume a lot of MCT oil powder. However you can choose between any of following lunch options:

  • Ground beef with lettuce, cherry tomatoes and avocado
  • Grilled chicken with lettuce and cherry tomatoes
  • Pork Chops with mushrooms, asparagus and coconut butter

As you can see, proteins are OK but do not eat anything over 100 grams unless you’ve had an intense workout the previous day. The lunch should always include vegetables since they are the ingredient which trigger fat burning during kitosis.

Dinner

Your dinner should always be a large salad with a little bit of chicken, beef or fish. You can also add a little bit of feta cheese or Parmesan. To make it healthier you can put mixed greens and spinach together. As far as 80% of your calories are from fat, you’re all good to go.
